Well...I guess they are in and one of our enterprising CEO has followed the footsteps of the eaglejet I guess and is getting expat F'Os to pay for their typerating + 15oo hours guaranteed hours on Turbo/JET

This is similar to what eaglejet has to offer http://www.eaglejet.net/FCatalog.asp?Submit=Display

When faced with the trained pilots crunch,he has taken a very profitable way for the company and why not......He is getting his copilots to pay him instead of being the otherway around...and Why Not?? It makes good business sense.

.Like I said ,Airlines arent in this for the love of aviation or aviators but purely as business concerns which invariably the pilot community forgets.

Right said Capt !!!

Especially with every other overconfident 19 yr old with a sparkling new CPL failing miserably at the sims (not exactly pilot guru clients ) airlines are looking at better and more reliable sources.

I think expats should be more concerned abt the boom than indians.

On a related note Expat F/O's being allowed on Indian carriers by the DGCA. So far it was on a case by case basis but now it seems its carte blanche. Instead of putting a green Indian CPL through the lengthy and expensive training process you have type rated guys meeting the short term demand. It's going to be interesting to see the job market after this decision.

This charging for a TR and guaranteeing hrs sets a very dangerous precedent in the industry. It looks like we are going to eventually go the EU way where these kinds of arrangements are the norm. Sad sad sad. Putting flying out of the reach of the common man.

Despite the perceived market conditions these airlines seem to have us by the balls (sorry gals). No
